OUR MANDATE
Legal Basis & Purpose
The Malungon Water District was established through Board Resolution No. 116 (amended by Resolution No. 224, series 1987) on August 21, 1987, formalized by the Local Water Utilities Administration with Certificate of Conditional Conformance No. 370 on November 29, 1988.
The district operates under Presidential Decree No. 198, as amended, known as the "Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973." Per Section 5, Title II, the district's purposes include:
- Acquiring, installing, improving, maintaining, and operating water supply and distribution systems for domestic, industrial, municipal, and agricultural uses
- Providing wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal facilities
- Conducting water resources development and utilization functions within district boundaries
