The Malungon Water District was established through Board Resolution No. 116 (amended by Resolution No. 224, series 1987) on August 21, 1987, formalized by the Local Water Utilities Administration with Certificate of Conditional Conformance No. 370 on November 29, 1988.
The district operates under Presidential Decree No. 198, as amended, known as the "Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973." Per Section 5, Title II, the district's purposes include:
"To be a trusted public utility providing water and septage management services, recognized for our commitment to environmental stewardship, innovation, sustainability, and customer service."
"We are committed to deliver reliable water and septage services to the community through implementation of quality management system and steadfast commitment to environmental protection."
